If you are interested in a beautiful picnic, Sofia would be your choice. The capital of Bulgaria, to be landed via some countries such as Italy. After passing through an unexpectedly complicated airport, the city is greeted by a bronze statue. I feel something ‘new’ that is somehow different from other countries in Europe. After a short drive through the countryside, we arrived at a monastery towering in the greenery. It is also one of the World Heritage Sites, and the architecture and frescoes are said to be the pinnacle of Bulgarian Renaissance art. I recommend the contrast between the mysterious space, the blue sky, and the greenery. If you have time, you can have a picnic in the forest or enjoy Bulgarian cuisine in the city.
